Hi, I am really pleased that we have an article for him, since he is an important author (and a good one too), but why on earth does the English language Wikipedia have a list of his works in German? Danny, 06:17, 2 March 2003

It doesn't make sense, especially without the German titles. I've removed that section. —Babelfisch 03:17, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I remember vaguely that years ago the Chinese authority protested that the Nobel Prize was awarded to Gao purely by political reasons. In response, the French government said that Gao is a French citizen now and the Chinese government has no right for such a comment. Can somebody find the source? --210.22.158.132, 06:39, 8 April 2005

I don't know how many people here have read his work. I did, and I have to say it's very mediocre. There are far better Chinese writers, for example, Mo Yan, Yu Hua. —This unsigned comment was added by the anonymous user 129.110.241.143 (talkcontribs) 00:18, 7 April 2006. The sources of a lot of the material in this article are not cited. For example, where does the poem 'Sky Burial' come from? To my knowledge, he had to burn all of his early works in poetry before being investigated, and has since published nothing in the medium. Lordrsb 15:09, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I did a bit of research and found the website from which this poem was quoted. I editted 'Gao's Poem' section (renamed 'Poem by Gao Xingjian') to give a more informative and objective introduction, and also cited my sources - having to add a 'References' section myself. Perhaps someone else might do the grand job of re-editting this article and citing all the sources.... Lordrsb 14:25, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is Mr Gao a Hakka?

[edit]

As Mr Gao was born in the Hakka region of Jiangxi, is he a Hakka person? 86.183.0.173 (talk) 22:19, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
