Nobel Peace Prize

[edit]

Being nominated for the Peace Prize is an honor, but it is not official and not necessarily prestigious. Any national legislator or about a third of the university professors in the world can make a nomination, and there have been as many as 140 some years. Nominators are requested to keep their nominations secret, so it's only those wishing publicity who make announcements. Altogether, I see no reason to keep it. No offense to the subject, this is a general Nobel Peace Prize "nominees" issue. -Willmcw 07:49, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

I understand your point - I knew about the nominations because I'm Quaker myself, and heard about the nomination from the AFSC, who brought it forward after the usual amount of Quakerly discussion. --Dan 18:01, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Extensive Bio

[edit]

My stars, editor Wadans, what a contribution! Could you sign up as a wikipedia editor, create a user page and discussion page so those of us who also do a little work on this topic can communicate with you more easily? I would like to see the bio split up with headings a bit more, and if you could add in the sources for your quotes that would be great. I expect the hangul romanization police will be by shortly, and my suggestion is to not resist ;-) Very nice work, though - soogo manee, manee hessumnida. A friend of mine, a Korean Quaker, who was friends with Teacher Hahm, informs me that another former friend, Quaker Floyd Schmoe, was instrumental in founding the Seoul Friends Meeting with Teacher Hahm. --Dan (talk) 17:16, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That material originates from a copyrighted website, and with no evidence that Wadens is the copyright holder I have therefore removed it. PC78 (talk) 19:18, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
