Veracity
[edit]Is this real? 98 hits on google. May be mythical. Secretlondon 19:11, Nov 9, 2003 (UTC)
- looks pretty real to me, appears in print history as well as internet - note actual name of Act in rivised article - dave souza 23:05, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Would it be worth merging and redirecting to Act of Proscription? After all, this wasn't an Act in its own right... Shimgray | talk | 15:46, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
Repeal Act 1782
[edit]The text of the Repeal Act can be found here:
https://randomscottishhistory.com/2019/03/17/george-iii-21st-year-chapter-63-1782/
It's quite simply worded.
The reported text of the 'proclamation' of the repeal act featured on the main wiki page here looks very suspicious. It doesn't read like a Royal Proclamation, and it may be therefore that's its provenance is a much later, perhaps 19th century, fabrication.
