Gatekeeper (butterfly)

The gatekeeper (Pyronia tithonus) is a species of butterfly in the Nymphalidae family, which is found across Europe. It is typically orange with two large brown spots on its wings and a brown pattern on the edge of its wings, although a large number of aberrant forms are known. The eyespots on the fore wings most likely reduce bird attacks, therefore the gatekeeper is often seen resting with its wings open. Colonies vary in size depending on the available habitat, and can range from a few dozen to several thousand butterflies. This male gatekeeper was photographed in Bernwood Forest, Buckinghamshire, England.

Done. Next time, try WP:ERRORS. Response is usually quicker there. --PFHLai 05:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re the 1978 entry--Volkswagen was NOT the first non-US auto manufacturer to build cars in the US. Rolls-Royce briefly built autos in Springfield, Mass for around 3 years in the mid 1920s. They are often referred to as "Springfield Rolls" and are highly prized. versen 04:48, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, we don't have a 1978 entry. Were you trying to post your message at Talk:April 10 instead of here ? --PFHLai 05:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You need a decent article about this event, with the date mentioned, plus a line on April 10#Events. But, please excuse my ignorance, how notable is this manga ? --PFHLai 18:29, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A candidate for next year:

-- PFHLai 18:34, 10 April 2007 (UTC) I would like to bring up the 44th anniversary of the loss with all on board of the USS Thresher, a US Navy nuclear submarine (and a prototype) on April 10th, 1963. I feel it is worth a place on 'this day in history' headings. Sorry if I have not entered this correctly, I have never done this before. Thanks. tadenny626Tadenny626 09:57, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum: RMS Titanic added later for balance. Normally it appears on April 15 (anniversary of its sinking) but it will be TFA for 2012. It should be removed for 2013. howcheng {chat} 16:24, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Titanic maiden voyage centenary

[edit]

I can't quite believe we've managed to overlook this, but today - in about half an hour's time to be exact - it's the 100th anniversary of the start of the Titanic's maiden voyage in 1912. It's getting a huge amount of media coverage at the moment. A related article will be the Featured Article of the day on 15 April, the centenary of the sinking, so it would be good to have something on OTD leading up to that. Could someone please add the following item:

Grateful if someone could take a look at this asap. Prioryman (talk) 10:28, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
