Deletion

[edit]

There is no reason to delete Zvonareva page. The French Open seeds page should be deleted indeed.

Replacement of Vera's photo on May 30

[edit]

For what reason was the photo of Vera's face replaced by a photo which (from a distance) could be any tennis player? This change was by IP 92.85.44.229 with no discussion or justification. I will provide some time for discussion before reverting the change. --Ben Best (talk) 05:49, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

After no discussion, I reverted the image. --Ben Best (talk) 15:24, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request for wider input on discussion at WikiProject Tennis

[edit]

There is a long, ongoing discussion at WP:Tennis about the tournament tables found in tennis articles on English-language Wikipedia (e.g., this type of table). The discussion is about whether the "official sponsored name" of a tournament - such as Pacific Life Open - or another tournament name without the sponsor - such as Indian Wells Masters - must be used in those articles. Please join the discussion here. Thanks. Tennis expert (talk) 09:32, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ballgirl

[edit]

She used to be a ballgirl in Moscow> Possibly worth mentioning in the "Early Life" section. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AenUutXsuw&feature=related 92.6.193.162 (talk) 00:29, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Error in her info for 2005

[edit]

In this section it says that she was injured in the second half of 2005 (from June to December). However, according to her official website stats (http://www.zvonareva.ru/singles_results/index.php?year=2005) it gives a listing of her tournaments which indicate she was playing June, July and the beginning of August. There is then a massive gap from that date to the end of September, which includes a non-entry in the U.S. Open. So her info should read that she was injured during August and September rather than from June to December. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.220.156.44 (talk) 20:29, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Change Vera Zvonareva's picture

[edit]

I would like to discuss changing her main article picture as the one currently being used is over 2 years old, plus it is not actually Zvonareva at the 2010 us open (Mmmase (talk) 01:17, 5 December 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Would File:Zvonareva Serve Japan 2.jpg or a cropped version of File:Radwanska and Zvonareva Tokyo.jpg from this past October do? --Mosmof (talk) 03:49, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Zvonareva Serve Japan 2.jpg because you can clearly tell its Zvonareva plus its recent and a good action shot (Mmmase (talk) 04:07, 5 December 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Would you mind changing it as thats a skill I have not yet acquired (Mmmase (talk) 04:15, 5 December 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Done. Mosmof (talk) 04:24, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs a complete overhaul!

[edit]

The section ‘ 2015–2016: Hiatus, marriage and maternity leave’ mentions nothing of the marriage or maternity leave, and the hiatus is mentioned in the last sentence as this was the last match she’d play for two years! Poor stuff. The whole article seems to be overloaded with information, it’s like every single match she has played is mentioned. I’d fix things myself but can’t remember my login at present *sigh* 92.234.142.65 (talk) 13:29, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
