I have reverted your changes on the Bowl Championship Series article because I do not believe this article needs such a link. I have removed it twice now. Kathryn Johnston

[edit]

Have you come across any biographical information on Kathryn Johnston. There is so little actually about her. Did you find any obituaries that may have details.

Your abuse report

[edit]

Regarding your report of an IP address here, I believe that you have chosen the wrong place. Wikipedia:Abuse reports only serves for long-term vandalism, so that the user's Internet provider could be notified of his conduct; this address has only made a few edits and was never blocked. If you want to notify administrators of vandalism taking place right now and requiring intervention, use the administrators' noticeboard: WP:AIV (short for Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism). List of Saturday Night Live commercials

[edit]

Hey there, I see you added a link to a page for "That's Not Yogurt" to a non-existent page. It's been a while since you placed that tag. Are you planning on creating that page?

If not, I plan to delete the link since it is a minor clip in a much larger collection and most of the clips don't have their own pages.

I am not aware of any plans to make a complete section devoted to separate pages on individual commercial spoofs.

Pls advise. Thx SteinAlive 23:42, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A note about my "tax" stuff

[edit]

Dear TexasDawg: Just so you'll know, I have moved my essays about tax protesters (and our related discussion) from my "user page" to my "user talk page", here: [1] and here: [2]. This is part of a process of reorganizing my user page. Yours, Famspear 16:20, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good call on the removal of commentary from the Crime Library site. Be prepared, feelings are running pretty high on that page, with editors on either side crying racist or PC police at the first sign of disagreement (I actually found myself snapping at someone on their talkpage, which is pretty out of character for me). Hopefully no one freaks out too much over this, and calm and rational heads can add correct and verified information as it comes in. Again, good call. AniMate 16:05, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Cookie Kwan.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cookie Kwan.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Gil.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gil.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 18:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimania in Atlanta!

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!

P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 08:20, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The Jimmy Clausen article received heavy editing today by new/unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you think your efforts to improve that article would be aided if new and unregistered users were blocked from editing that article, please let me know and I will protect the article. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 08:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For the past month, I've been working on the 2006 Chick-fil-A Bowl article. I've brought it up to GA status and am now working on making it a featured article. Since you're a 'Dawg, and the article deals with the Georgia Bulldogs football team, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a swing by the nomination and leave any suggestions or support you might have. Thanks! JKBrooks85 03:34, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abuse Report

[edit]

You just warned me about a potential abuse and I was wondering how deleting a sentence that said something along the lines of "The Stafford affect could also refer to his blowing games with bad tosses, interceptions, and overall not being Tebow." How on Earth does me DELETING that count as vandalism? I would assume that would be correcting the page unless Wikipedia actually has the unbiased belief that Stafford does in fact blow games. Abuse Report

[edit]

Yeah, I'm another one that just got the same message. I guess since I don't have an account to log in my IP is being recorded which is fine by me. Allow me to say that after the Georgia/Florida game this past weekend I came here to read up on the Bulldogs and Stafford's entry was edited by an obvious Florida fan with the same "The Stafford affect could also refer to his blowing games with bad tosses, interceptions, and overall not being Tebow" along with comments like "the SEC title game had Florida destroying Alabama with Tebow going to the NC game (something Stafford could never do)... etc... etc... All I did was DELETE the garbage that littered the 2008 game entries. Everything from 2007 prior was left alone so I obviously didn't touch that.

Before you go accusing people of vandalizing try reading the edits that were made. I'm a Georgia fan and did nothing other than delete garbage that was posted by a Florida fan within minutes of the game ending. Please go over the edits because you are accusing the wrong person of vandalism. Travis2k7 (talk) 21:17, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-- My bad. I did check the edits, but just screwed up which IP addresses had done the vandalism. Sorry about that. -- TexasDawg (talk) 13:59, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, and BTW, I now have a Wikipedia account.  :) Travis2k7 (talk) 21:18, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I was reading the above-linked article and came across Vincente Padilla#The 2002 All-Star Game "tie controversy" section. As a baseball fan, it piqued my curiosity because I never heard these rumors. I clicked the provided link and all I got was [3] constantly updated homepage of source that I did not recognize as reliable. I did some googling but was unable to find this story anywhere. I began suspecting that it was vandalism so I searched through the page history to see which editor added the content to the article. Realizing that it was you i knew it was not vandalism. Getting to my point, per WP:BLP such unsourced information must be removed. However I'm notifying you of the removal in case you find a reliable source confirming this information. You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:04, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:OKAllen2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:OKAllen2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:12, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oversigning

[edit]

It seems as if you are exhibiting some bias on the oversigning wiki. If you are not willing to document and explain each and every case of alleged oversigning, please do not include cases in which you have chosen simply at your discretion. If you don't write about every single case of alleged oversigning in the modern history of college football, then you should remove any selected cases on the page.

Replaceable fair use File:Wanda Lopez Murderer Manhunt Map.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Wanda Lopez Murderer Manhunt Map.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 06:03, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
