Please stop vandalizing Votes For Deletion

[edit]

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. Joyous 23:56, Dec 7, 2004 (UTC)

I believe I owe you an apology. Please see the VFD discussion page for an explanation. I'm completely at a loss to explain what I saw on VFD tonight. Joyous 00:33, Dec 8, 2004 (UTC)

Correct format is:

Each Vfd poll should have its own voting policy. Not all Vfd polls are the same.

[edit]

If you change Vfd policy, take into account my Vfd policy also and everyone else's policy too. Try to merge the policies. You can have a common Vfd policy for all polls, or you can let people to decide a specific Vfd policy for each poll. This is the first policy you have to decide. The variables you have to take into account for a Vfd policy (either applied to every poll or to a group of poll or to each poll separately) are specifics. Here they are: minimum participation on the poll to make it legitimate, decision method (for example 2/3 majority, best rated poll option e.t.c), how long the poll should active then archived, and finnaly how long the decision should be valid. So, you can either define a common policy for each poll, or you can let the people to vote both their poll option and the above 4 variables, then by using the average method you can extract the decision from the poll. Hope you understand me, otherwise let me explain further... Iasson 10:07, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

This is the meaning of my strange votes. I dont want all VfD polls to have the same policy. I think that every Vfd poll should have its own policy that depends on what it is actually written on the article. A vanity article deserves a different Vfd policy than a nonsense article for example. And of course I dont wont to force people to follow the policy that I think is correct for a specific article, thats why I put my proposed policy into a poll along with my poll option. Trolling?

[edit]

Hi there - thanks for your comments about whether or not these vfd listings are trolling - in my opinion they are. Of course, everyone's definition of trolling is different, and you are certainly entitled to yours. Have a good new year, Mark Richards 00:53, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thanks you for your delete

Subtractive color space But you know I have no wiki right. No I should not ask for a deletion. But If you try to redirect WITH kindly explaination and are ignored and redirected back, and have paragraphs of your data replaced with incorrect data, without discussion, for days...

I could have cried and gave up.

I coud have tried mediation, but he was soooo insistant on his title and definition and would not speak to me. And truly Subtractive color space, really does not exist. Subtractive color theory, mixing methods, etc. yes CMYK color space, yes, and it utilizes the principles of subtractive color to generate its gamut. RGB space, sure

So I gambled, and was scared, but really felt his page did not have enough valid data to work from, nor would he have allowed me to change a word of it.

Hi!

Greetings, fellow deletionist and slayer of trolls. Just a note to thank you for the chuckle on my talk page and to let you know I'm back. Whew! Holidays are hectic, man...! - Lucky 6.9 01:58, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

johor jaya

[edit]

The community agrees to keep the Johor Jaya artcile. However, I thibk that the article Gtabary gave is worse. Please give me sometime to clean it up and enhance the entire outlook of it.

This Land VfD

I voted delete originally, it would appear that the VfD page has been vandalised by User:210.213.131.197. Rje 02:53, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit]

I can agree with you. Don't think that this is my usual behavior. Just see my talk page for interaction with other users. Much better, aren't they? They are at least much frienndlier, unlike Gtabary. I can work out civilly, but he put up the RfC to point out what he thinks of me. I can remove the charges against him, but he must remove his first. I want to work it out civilly, but at the start he is a very rift-rough man. I will do what you tell me if these criteria are met:

  1. I put up the charges against him as he equally deserves such kind of treatment. I want the charges against me to be removed once and for all, and then I remove his. He must also understand the value of writing Medical Specialist Centre, Johor Bahru City Square and Johor Jaya. Writing an encyclopedia article doesn't mean it have to be very-well notable. There are lots more of Hospital articles on wikipedia.
  1. I want the feud between both of us to be termniated swiftly. After that, I hope we will not talk to each other again.
  1. Once again, I wish you a Happy New Year.

[edit]

I'm not sure what you mean - I've one comment for those voting to keep, and one marked delete. (plus another scored out when I rewrote it). I don't see any keep votes. Shimgray 11:17, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

PMC, Megatokyo and 4chan

[edit]

Oh, PMC on my talk page? Yeah, it's nice isn't it? I just showed up on Wikipedia and PMC started following me around, so I kept her. She makes a nize fuzzy pet, mind you :P Anyways, it's in her name, Premeditated Chaos, so what else can there be said about her? As for Megatokyo, I have an inactive and unused user account, but I forgot the name and password of it. I very rarely visit the forums and if I do, I just lurk around, really. As for 4chan, yes, we need to keep an eye open for 4chan based vandalism. Apparently, Anonymous does not forgive. Nor does Anonymous have any proper skill in editing MediaWiki pages, hehe. Glad that 4chan got his with the redirect stick, though. My retinas still hurt from that monstrousity... :: DarkLordSeth 12:34, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Simple questions that require simple answers for Vfd

[edit]

I am asking simple questions, and I dont get an answer from you. What is the voters population? In order for a Vfd poll to be a valid one, what is the minimum number of voters (as population percentage) that has to cast a vote on it? What is your decision method when you extract the decision from the poll? 2/3 majority? simple majority rule? other? Finnaly as long as you take a decision, how long this decision is valid and cannot be reversed? I am expecting simple answers from you, in order to stop proposing my own answers.vfd policy is a total mess! Iasson 09:45, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

  • My response:
Voting population:Anyone who will bother to vote and can argue good faith if asked.
There is no bottom limit to critical mass for a vote, however, if the 5-7 day period passes with a very small vote count (read: 1-2 noncommital votes), the admin handling the VfD can chose to relist or take independant action.
The result is often defined as 'community consensus', a fuzzy them that can be applied multiple ways. If, for example, a page is listed and the first few votes are strong deletes based on an early verson of the article, but a user comes along at the last minute and vastly improves the article, but only one or two strong votes to keep (under 50%) votes are cast on the article after the cleanup, the admin reviewing the VfD may not delete the article, though the majority of voters voted to delete an older version.
The decisions are valid until otherwise questioned; for a delete, this questioning can be done as a recreate of the article with new content or a Request for Undeletion; for a keep the article can be relisted after some time has passed (a month is considered the least amount of time).
This is how I understand the rules, and I hope this clears things up for you. hfool/Roast me 21:17, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Iasson

[edit]

I'm not planning on permabanning him. Like I said, if he reverts my deletion of his trolling from VfD pages, I'll block him for 24 hours. That's not permabanning. RickK 00:39, Jan 22, 2005 (UTC)

Iasson has accused you and I of being the same person, you may wish to comment on this. [1] Thryduulf 01:48, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)

im sorry but s/he is realy getting on my nerves and i dont think s/he is as naive as s/he claims to be. i think s/he got pissed off a while back and has a standing vendeta. Xtra 05:18, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)

in support of my theory that Iasson has been around for a while - user:146.124.141.250 apears to be Iasson and has been editing since 2002. Xtra 10:49, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)

  • Hi. I was wondering why you moved the original article to this title. Normal Wikipedia convention is to user lowercase for all words after the first, unless it is a proper noun. See [[[Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Lowercase_second_and_subsequent_words]]. DJ Clayworth 17:57, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the suggestion on the future of Inearthed. No idea why I didn't think of that. Cheers! --Sn0wflake 22:53, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)
