Hi! Just thought I should mention that articles that are nothing but a photo without text are speedy deletion candidates. Can you add anything about the trees in the photos? Thanks! - Lucky 6.9 06:55, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Tag that image! And... welcome!

[edit]

You need to apply an appropriate image copyright tag to Image:Gotcha04.jpg. The most common one is {{GFDL}}, meaning you took the photograph yourself and are releasing it under the GNU Free Documentation License.

Wikipedia only allows images that are "free." If you got this image from a website, or if it's a scanned publicity photo from Gotcha!, it can't be used in Wikipedia unless the person who owns the copyright explicitly agrees to release it under the GFDL. Dpbsmith (talk) 11:12, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Image:RushLimbaugh.jpg Could you provide a source for the picture RushLimbaugh.jpg it needs to be noted on the picture's page or it might get deleted as an unsourced picture. Thanks - BCV 19:28, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder to tag images

[edit]

Vmbari82, when you upload images, we need you to provide information on where they came from and what their copyright status is. Even if the pictures aren't owned by you or in the public domain, they may still be usable under fair use, but it's important that we know where the pictures come from. If you've taken a picture yourself and would like to release it under a license such as the Creative Commons license, please consider adding a tag such as {{cc-by-sa-2.0}}. Before uploading a copyrighted image which does not belong to you, please follow the guidelines set forth at Wikipedia:Fair_use and use a tag such as {{fairuse}}.

You have uploaded the following images without source or copyright information:

I hope you will tag these images, and any others you upload in the future. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! —Miles←☎ 06:10, May 23, 2005 (UTC)

I just wanted to emphasize that you should not tag an image with a tag such as {{GFDL}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.0}} unless you are the copyright holder of the image (i.e., the photographer). Thanks! —Miles←☎ 06:16, May 23, 2005 (UTC)

These images are copyright violations from the websites indicated, and will be deleted:

Thanks for uploading Image:Platinum 2002.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Pak21 10:52, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Fred2002.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Fred2002.jpg.

If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mcmansiongrass.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 14:17, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This image, which you marked as public domain, appears to have been taken from http://www.1470wnyy.com. Can you provide a source that shows it as being released to the public domain? Many thanks. – ClockworkSoul 04:45, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Masters1996.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Masters1996.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:19, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Vm03.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Vm03.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 02:34, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Mcmansion north.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Mcmansion north.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 09:33, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
