Dear friends! always compare two different versions of this page and make your changes line by line. recently one of the users was trying to replace a version of this page that he or she had copied and he didn't pay attention to minor edits, minor changes in cautions of pictures, changes which was took place in picture's positions and new info which added to the article with original sources and ...

For example this user was copying his accepted version and didn't care about some info with original sources in "colours and crest" and "stadium and facilities" parts.

Is William McLory a famous player?

[edit]

was he really usefull for persepolis? he only played 2 games same as Jane Nikolovski, Saša Ilić. I think they shouldnt be in Famous players section. Zyad Chaabo, Tarek Jabban havent done anything special so far for persepolis. Joojoo ra

I agree. For a player to be famous he should have at least played for Persepolis for a number of seasons or gone on to a very amazing career. Players like Nikolovski, Ilic and McLory were not that great and should be removed from the list.Nokhodi 21:42, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Persepolis or Perspolis

[edit]

Guys It's come to the point where this is starting to look really unprofessional it's either Persepolis or Perspolis we can't have double standards and if the website is saying Perspolis the surely regardless of the spelling of the actually Persian captial then we must spell it Persepolis. Surely that's logical, we can't just interpretate things as we want.--Princeofpersia1 17:36, 02 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On one hand you are correct, on the other hand I think since this is the English wiki we should use the proper English term when necessary. The problem is that even at times Persepolis management and team spell the team name in different ways which causes more confusion. I say lets keep it the way it is for now. For some reason spelling it Perspolis bothers me.Nokhodi 01:27, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page is too messy

[edit]

I think the page has way too many tables and isn't aesthetically pleasing. Anyone have any ideas on how we can fix this? Also please if you guys find any english language sources for information on Persepolis FC, please share it. One of my goals for this page was to turn it into a featured article or at least get it a decent status.kNohodi (talk) 21:53, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, I think this article doesn't need any tabel for Squad Changes and honors Joojoo 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I say we create separate pages for tables that are very long. Pages for teams like Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona.... have a format like that.Nokhodi (talk) 03:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah thats a good idea, Im down for it.Joojoo 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Player Records

[edit]

does anybody know that who has scored most goals for persepolis and number of his goals? I think it's Farshad Pious, According to his official website, he at least has scored 96 goals for persepolis[1](sum his goals for persepolis) who are his followers?
and who has the most capps for Persepolis? It might be Afshin Peyrovani and Ali Parvin has 160 capps
please help me finding out about it. thx (Vespa64 (talk) 15:44, 23 June 2008 (UTC)).[reply]

I am pretty sure Peyrovani had the most caps playing for Persepolis. Over 200 matches. I will try and find the source.

We need more references!

[edit]

Hi
For turning this article to a Featured Article we need more references. If you want to put a reference please note bellow:

  • The Sources must be reliable.
  • English language Sources are preferred. (Here is English Wikipedia!) If you couldn't find it in English you can find it in Persian or other languages.

Foundation date

[edit]

Firstly, All of the reliable references have cited Foundation date "Day 1342" (December 1963). Second, December 22=1 Day and it seems the day is defaultly. Third, According to this, goalju.org seems unreliable. Amirreza talk 16:50, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reforming the article

[edit]

I've been asked to help making the article better. so, here's what I put in the task list:

  • removing "Famous fans" part. we don't see such section in Featured articles such as Arsenal F.C. or FC Barcelona. these articles would have a long list of celebrities as their fans if they have such thing.
  • about the "Anthem" section, I think its content should be removed. the cited anthem is not an official song, and it has a very weak reference which does not imply to it at all. the section should be about this or be terminated.
  • "Colours and crest" section is full of things that I have written from my own :) unreferenced contents should be removed.
  • some fool is trying to be funny on this article! i don't know how can we get rid of these kids for good! help needed!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miladashouri (talkcontribs) 12:12, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The name of Piroozi/Pirouzi in the introduction paragraph

[edit]

Although I personally hate the absurd name of "Piroozi F.C." or "Pirouzi F.C." which wasd|Persepolis F.C.|answered=no}}

Sorena6889 (talk) 14:56, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I hate this name either; However, the club had officially been playing under this name for almost 20 years and this name ("Piroozi F.C." or "Pirouzi F.C.") has been recorded in the official documents of AFC and FIFA for those years, I think the name should be very briefly mentioned in the introduction paragraph. Msanta20 (talk) 01:27, 5 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He is out of list now, but under contract with the club yet.
I know he hadn't any places in Persepolis for 2015–16 season but before any official release news we can't remove his name from first team squad.
I think it is better to wait until season start and official announcement of First team by club website or Iran League Organisation official website. — Pedrum M. (talk) 13:40, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Age limits

[edit]

As a rule, each team that played in Persian Gulf Pro League can register 18 players without any age limits, 9 Under 23 players and 8 under 21 players. Since 2015 summer transfers, there was no under 19 quota and any players who comes from academy, registered as Under 21 player.
also Iran League Organization announced age limits few weeks ago, according to this announcement:

  • players player whose birth is after 1 January 1994 - Under 23
  • players player whose birth is after 1 January 1997 - Under 21REF
  • players player whose birth is after 1 January 1999 - Under 19
  • players player whose birth is after 1 January 2001 - Under 16

Sadegh Moharrami was born on 1996, so he will registered as under 23 quota while Hamed Aghaei who was born on 1997 will registered as under 21 quota. — Pedrum MZ (talk) 15:55, 30 June 2016 (UT

Affiliated clubs

[edit]

An IP user keeps adding a long list of affiliated clubs with no sources. I'm reverting it because it is unsourced and I am challenging it. That's not to say that I think the list is definitely incorrect, but until there are references next to them, it's just a long list of unsourced entries, and that's a big no-no on Wikipedia. I'm bringing it up here in case anyone else wants to have a look at the list and add the necessary references. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 21:31, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Runners-up Honours

[edit]

Hello, I added information about "Runners-up" title of the Persepolis F.C. in the honours section to keep the compatibility of information with other domestic (Iranian) rivals such as Esteghlal F.C., Sepahan S.C., Zob Ahan SC, Tractor Sazi F.C. as well as the continental rivals, including but not limited to Al-Hilal FC, Al-Ahli Saudi FC, Al-Ittihad, Al Ain FC, Seongnam FC, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC, Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao F.C., FC Seoul, Pohang Steelers, Adelaide United FC, Western Sydney Wanderers FC and so on. However, a user (User:Shahin), knowing that it's WP:EW and WP:3RR, keeps reverting those editions, arguing that since it does not follow the wikipedia article of the world class clubs (Real Madrid CF ,FC Barcelona, Juventus_F.C., Manchester_United_F.C., FC_Bayern_Munich) in the UEFA region (not even ordinary European clubs such as Valencia CF, Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina, Eintracht Frankfurt, AS Monaco and so on), therefore it's an "unnecessary information" to be remained on the article! Thus, the most important honour of the club's history (AFC Champions League Runners-up) and reaching to the highest level of the most important continental tournament is not listed in the honour section of the club. GOCE copy edit

[edit]

I copy edited this article for the September 2023 Backlog Elimination Drive. This article still needs a lot of work. In particular, there are a dearth of cites, and I think that some of the sections can be laid out in a more coherent and consistent manner, particularly when recounting the team's victories. I'm not sure if this sufficiently covers the team's wins or important events because I don't know much about football. Best of luck to whoever takes this on. voorts (talk/contributions) 22:55, 17 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
