Urbane is an adjective, as in "This Wikipedia entry is far from urbane." The noun is Urbanity, an interesting characteristic of human life, which deserves a "history-of-ideas type entry— though not using this text. --Wetman 21:44, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hey isnt this a word that is commonly used to mean quite the opposite, ie unsophisticated or boring? misused perhaps much like peruse? if so should we add a note? How ubane used often used as like how provencial though the words are opposite?Wyocoyote (talk) 17:46, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
