Boaz, AL

[edit]

Boaz is not located in Etowah County. It's located in Marshall County and the county seat is located in Guntersville, AL, not Gadsden.

Boaz Alabama Police Incident

[edit]

don't hide the truth. just because you wish it hadn't happened doesn't make it untrue. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.8.42.154 (talkcontribs) 22:45, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

I have not ever heard about this incident, nor do I live in the United States, so I do not care about hiding anything. It is a Wikipedia guideline. See WP:good_faith. However, you provided information that was not sourced in any way. For that reason it was removed. You've readded it now, but the information you've added now is a breach of copyright and is therefore a violation of Wikipedia guidelines. Please see Wikipedia:Copyrights for more information. I have therefore deleted it, again. Additionally, it's hard to see if the information belongs in the Boaz, Alabama entry. It would be a good idea to discuss such an addition on the talk page, perhaps.

To other wikipedians, do you think the incident described in http://birmingham.fbi.gov/history.htm is notable and belongs in an entry such as this? I have little perspective on US issues. Frank Quist 23:42, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I must agree with the user this incident is important. With the long history of civil right violations in Alabama it is extremly important for people to know what is going on. I say let it stay it is factual and relevant.

Fair use rationale for Image:BoazSeal.jpg

[edit]

Image:BoazSeal.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:19, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
