POV in "Prehistoric matriarchy debate" section

[edit]

The current version of this section is biased. There is widespread evidence of matrilineal elite genealogy and property transfers in early human societies. What is up for debate is the *extent* of such "matriarchal" relations in prehistoric times. The POV in this section takes a black-and-white perspective and just says, without source, "In academic circles, this prehistoric matriarchy is considered unlikely." ignoring evidence to the contrary and smearing all opponents of this view (a diverse range of perspectives) as followers of the "Goddess movement."

I am not an expert on this subject but it strongly seems to me that there is a lively academic debate on this subject and this section would benefit from clarification of opposing views, and being rewritten from an unbiased perspective. 76.21.38.200 (talk) 19:49, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"it strongly seems to me that there is a lively academic debate on this subject" I have no idea. My few books on the subject date to the 1970s and 1980s. Are you aware of more recent publications on the subject matter? Dimadick (talk) 09:05, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
