Two issues

[edit]
  1. The list shows "Natural Born Kissers: The Story of Their Love" twice.
  2. Are there two different covers for "Simpsons Gone Wild?"

Fair use rationale for Image:Bart wars.jpg

[edit]

Image:Bart wars.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

This page was recently kept after an AFD. In that AFD people said that the list was easily verifiable. It needs to be sourced and I'm willing to do the work, but I can't find any reliable sources. Does anybody know some reliable sources that could be used for this page? Otherwise, I would like to know if I can use commercial websites such as amazon.com for referencing. --Maitch (talk) 12:49, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Simpsons Archive [1] is home to Bruce Gomes' Audio & Video Releases guide, which could be useful. - Wezzo (talk) (ubx) 21:46, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, SNPP is not considered a reliable source, so we cannot use it. --Maitch (talk) 06:26, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need to watch the updates

[edit]

FYI, the problem is that people are adding in release dates for Season 11's Region 1 release, so since I had to revert this twice I should bring it to peoples attention and I know it should remain blank until a valid source can be found. -71.193.181.210 (talk) 22:08, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The simpsons season 11 dvd realease date?

[edit]

does anyone have a sourse about the region 2 realease date? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.17.241.72 (talk) 19:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the region 4 one is coming out in november but I don't know about the 2nd region sorry...maybe they're the same dates —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamaluigibob (talkcontribs) 07:56, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

boxsets

[edit]

Does anyone know why the season boxsets take so long to come out? Only season 11 was released this year =(

it's going to be out in 5th november in region 4 http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/801540 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamaluigibob (talkcontribs) 07:57, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect they want to milk the later seasons for as long as possible, and make more money by not having the boxed sets overlap too much. - Redmess (talk) 18:40, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What happened?

[edit]

What happened to this article? It used to be very nice and organized, and now it seems to have collapsed. At one point, I thought the season boxes split from the other compliation dvds. But now they seem to be in here again? The lead talks about the DVD boxes mainly, and then most of the body of the article is about single compilations. It's not good writing. TheHYPO (talk) 10:43, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amazon.co.uk has Season 12 available to pre-order.

[edit]

And is says it will be released on September 28 (2009). Is this true? Or are they doing what they usually do, that is, making up random release dates of when they THINK it will be released, rather than saying "TBA" or something? The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 02:46, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It could be either one really. Either way, we should wait for an official press release per WP:RS before adding anything. -- Scorpion0422 02:53, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks pretty convincing to me —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.21.249 (talk) 11:15, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Holy crap, what does TVShowsonDVD.com say only a few days ago? Exactly what Amazon.co.uk have said for probably 2 months.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 02:36, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Season 13 DVD/Blu-ray

[edit]

Season 13 will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on August 24th. 87.63.228.190 (talk) 19:49, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the update. CTJF83 chat 21:03, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think the paragraph "Starting with Season 20, the sets are being released in Blu Ray format as well as normal." is a little confusing now that season 13 is to be released. Readers will need to sort the season box sets by release date in their head to figure out that Season 13 was released after season 20 and therefore also available on Blu-ray. Also, I think that [2] is the correct spelling, not "Blu ray". I would also change the word "normal" to "DVD" in the paragraph. 87.63.228.190 (talk) 16:43, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Season 20 Region 2.

Four online stores... NONE of them sell a SINGLE copy of this set. If it's out in Region 2, then why the HELL is it not available in the UK? Region 2 should mean Region 2, NOT just limited areas. If it is in a limited area, SAY THE FREAKING GOD DAMNED SO! And for God's sake, SHOW ME WHERE IT SAYS IT'S RELEASED AT ALL, ON NOVEMBER 24, 2010! I'm not asking. I'm telling, so DO IT, or STOP PUTTING THAT DATE WHEN IT'S NOT OUT!--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 04:45, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone bothers to read this damned discussion section, here's a review from a Region 1 import at Amazon UK: "Just recieved the blu ray today andaltough the packaging says Region A it DOES work on a region B player, it IS multi-region, tae no notice of the other review. Both discs are excellent, and the episodes themselves look better than ever in 16:9 HD! So, I would definitely reccommend this, and many of the episodes are hilarious! So, remember...THIS IS A MULTI-REGION BLU-RAY!" -- In other words, the Region A blu-ray apparently can be played on a Region B player, i.e. Europe, UK, etc, however, the season has not OFFICIALLY been released in Region 2/B regions, hence why it's not available ANYWHERE WHAT-SO-FREAKING EVER apart from a single site that doesn't even have it (but that's probably just a Region A import, even though it claims otherwise)--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 02:59, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just be glad you can get it AT ALL! Now I can see why Fox is not releasing to your area if you are anything to judge it by! Barts1a | Talk to me | Yell at me 07:52, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Are you stupid? My area? IT'S NOT FREAKING AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE CONTINENT KNOWN AS EUROPE. My area is nothing to do with it. It's not available ANYWHERE! IN! EUROPE! AT! ALL!--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 16:08, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is there anyway that you could be a little less agressive in your discussion? It seems that there is no reason for your outbursts.Nightenbelle (talk) 23:01, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Ultimate Kooper, your outburst come off as very immature. Please stop getting worked up over things. There's no need for the all-caps...>_> Sergecross73 msg me 03:04, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry <_<. I did find the French Amazon website, that has the Season 20 Region 2 DVD available, and lists the date as 24 November 2010, so that must be the actual date (as was previously mentioned, however, no one actually linked to anything to prove it). The only proof that it's not available in all countries, is experience, that is, it's not available in the UK, and never officially has been. Other than that, I can't actually prove it wasn't.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 03:21, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
They actually provided a link- you just rejected that link. I've seen the link and I have no clue why you rejected it, but its really not fair to reject a link because its not from the website you like. But thats not the issue- the issue is- you could have handled the disagreement with dignity and respect rather than asking if they were "Freaking Stupid." If you stay cool, then if you do discover you were wrong as in this case, you won't look silly. Nightenbelle (talk) 04:25, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
When did I reject any links that show the date of November 24, 2010? I only rejected CDWow, which lists the date as January 10. That was the US release, not the European release. Amazon.fr has the DVD set on sale and says it was released on November 24, 2010. This is also a date that was listed here. The DVD was NOT released on January 10, 2010 at all in Europe, neither was the blu-ray. The only reason it was listed is because apparently the Region A blu-ray is actually multi-region, and apparently works on Region B blu-ray players as well. The thing is it was never OFFICIALLY (read that word, OFFICIALLY) released in Europe until November 24, 2010. I've provided proof, in the form of Amazon. And how the hell can I find proof it wasn't released in the UK? Apart from teh fact it's not available in the UK? If it was never released, then there won't BE any proof. I mean you can't go on Amazon, and search for the DVD and expect it to say "THis was not released". If it wasn't released in the UK (which it wasn't), then it wouldn't be listed anywhere, would it (which it isn't). I only managed to get this DVD set from Amazon UK from an import from the Netherlands, otherwise, it'd be on Amazon. Don't say ANYTHING about "my area", until you read this fully, please?--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:00, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The German Amazon says September 17, 2010 (yet another date listed here), so I'm assuming it was released in Germany and France seperately.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:04, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:VERIFY. In short, if you can't prove something, it has no place on wikipedia. Sergecross73 msg me 02:01, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, do you have anything that backs up your "region" theory other than a random reader review from Amazon? Because that's not even close to a reliable source. Just because it's "possible" doesn't mean it "happened". Sergecross73 msg me 17:19, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have anything that backs up the "region theory" as you put it, but I know this. The stupid boxset was NOT released in the UK. It was NOT released on January 20, 2010. It was released in Europe, but NOT in the UK. Don't you DARE tell me to prove it. I can't PROVE that something doesn't exist, apart from the fact that it is not available ANY GOD DAMNED FREAKING WHERE IN THE UK -- CDWow is the ONLY site that even had it DISPLAYED as being available, and even THAT isn't being sold. STOP reverting my edits of which I've given sources. I'm pretty sure Amazon is more reliable than CDWow. If this was released in the UK, tell me this, for the billionth time... WHY THE GOD DAMNED HELL IS IT NOT AVAILABLE A-N-Y W-H-E-R-E? You want me to be civil? Well why don't you stop being jerks and accept that it wasn't released in the UK? My latest edit to the article is perfectly legitimate. You asked for sources? I gave sources. Yet you still revert it back because CDWow are so obviously more reliable than Amazon--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 16:44, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter if we were trying to argue that the sun is purple, that's no excuse for your reactions. Not only is it offensive, but it gets you nowhere. It takes away from your credibility, and makes people less inclined to listen to you. Sergecross73 msg me 21:53, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Can I just ask? Exactly WHY was my edits containing reliable sources reverted to that ridiculous source that doesn't even have the damned DVD available? How many times do I have to tell you? The 20th season was never released in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island. A single site that sells the DVD does NOT mean it was released in the UK. Not to mention the DVDs are never released on the same day as Region 1, infact not even the same day of the week as Region 1. I'm not that bothered if you revert an unsourced edit, but I gave you an accurate source, and yet you still continue to use that stupid freaking CDWow crap. And yet you wonder why I get angry? You ask for sources? I give you sources. I cannot accept that CD Wow is the only site in the entire United Kingdom that even SOLD (note the past tense) the set, and now that doesn't even sell it. If it was out as early as January 2010, I would have got it long before I did. Infact, I was only able to get it from Amazon UK by an import from the Netherlands. It is not available to buy from Amazon, HMV, Play, or whatever other places in the UK sell DVDs. I can't prove something doesn't exist, because obviously, there's nothing that can be proven. It'd have to exist for me to prove it. Now, please stop reverting my edits, because they are very much correct. A lot more than whoever put CDWow as a source.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:09, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You come fresh out of a block and your first edits are EXACTLY what got you blocked... Just drop the stick or you WILL be blocked again; and this time I'm not sure they'll be willing to put a time limit on it! Barts1a | Talk to me | Yell at me 00:22, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am doing nothing wrong. If you can't get it through your heads that this was not released in the UK, you need to do some research! You don't want me to be rude? Well how the HELL do you expect me not to be if you keep reverting my edits? I'm really struggling to type this without getting freaking pissed off--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:28, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
How about discussing and coming to a consensus, rather than just rushing off and reverting the first chance you get? Sergecross73 msg me 00:30, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why? It's not my fault you can't accept that it was NEVER released in the UK! It's not my fault that the only source you can find is CDWow. And I mean the ONLY site... the single ONE site of billions on the internet. How is that remotely reliable source? How about we just leave it as — because I provide sources, you revert them, and vice versa. Since neither actually can agree, again, just leave it as —? And I really don't know how many times I have to ask, but again, can someone provide at least 5 sites that are not CDWow, that directly sell the season set in the UK? If it was released in the UK, don't you think it would be on at least more than er... ONE site?--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:32, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The same could be said for Amazon, moreso because it uses user-generated content and therefore LESS of a reliable source that CDWow. Barts1a | Talk to me | Yell at me 00:35, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)How many times must you be told that your personal experiences are not a valid reason for your edits. Once again, read WP:VERIFY. Regardless of how right or wrong you may be, stop reverting until there is a consensus. Sergecross73 msg me 00:36, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not familiar with this particular website, but here's another one that shows it. http://www.musicshop.com.au/the-simpsons-season-20-blu-ray-2-disc-set.html A number of other places show it as "region free". Not the most reliable sites, but it certainly seems to exist in this region... Sergecross73 msg me 00:45, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know it was released in "Region B" I'm talking about the UK specifically. Not to mention, that's an Australian site (the .au and the dollar sign is a big give away), this could mean that it was ONLY available in that country. Secondly, Region 1, Region 2, and Region 4, are COMPLETELY different to Region A, B and C. For starters, UK is Region 2, Australia is Region 4, for DVDs, yet, for blu-ray, they are both Region B.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:53, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)x2 Facepalm Facepalm You just don't get it do you... Barts1a | Talk to me | Yell at me 01:01, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, I'm not especially familiar with the specific break downs with the regions. I mostly just disagree with your argument of "I can't find it, so it wasn't released". What if I couldn't find a copy of Mario 64 in the U.S.? Does that mean it never came out? It's flawed logic. Sergecross73 msg me 00:56, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, when I say "I can't find it", you do realise I mean online, and not actually in real shops on the highstreet or something, right? Also, I just realised, that CDWow thing? I'm pretty sure it's actually an import from Australia. Note how it says "Film Rating (Australia) - PG"? Not to mention that the DVD region of Australia (i.e Region 4) has January 20, 2010 in that table. Therefore, I may be correct. The season was never officially released in the UK, but was released in Australia, on January 20, from which that CDWow entry was clearly from. Also the fact it's unable to be purchased is probably because it was an Australian import?--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 00:59, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In otherwords, Season 20 was released in Australia on January 20, 2010 on DVD which is Region 4. As well as blu-ray, which is Region B. Region B also includes the UK. CDWow's now not-available item is an import from Australia. It works, because as I said, the Australian blu-ray region is the same as the UKs, unlike the DVD region, which is 2 and 4 for UK and Australia respectively.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 01:03, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless, there is no denying that it will play on ANY UK blu-ray player. And again; just because you don't like a source, does NOT mean it is an invalid source. Please drop the stick and move on. It's over. You lost. Move on!
It was only released on blu-ray in "Region B" but not on DVD. Also, because the DVD regions contain different countries to blu-ray regions, I added seperate columns for the blu-ray regions. This should hopefully make it clearer. Again, the CDWow thing is an Australian import. Yes it can play on UK blu-ray players, because Region B contains the UK as well as Australia. Doesn't mean "it was released in the UK", otherwise, you may as well say a Japanese DVD was released in Germany, just because Japan is in Region 2. I really hope the table thing was a good thing, because I'll be honest. I don't like arguing at all, and I'd honestly like to think I'm generally doing the site some good. I'm not looking to take over as the main site owner or something, but I'd like to at least know that I'm not just some troll who vandalises everything. Personally, the Blu-ray vs DVD region differences should be clearer if they're seperated, so I'd see no reason to revert them. And if they were, I'd be a little confused as to why.--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 01:16, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, should we rename the article to "List of The Simpsons DVDs and Blu-ray sets" or something?--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 01:18, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted the new Blu Ray section. There's gotta be a better way to do that. It doesn't make sense to do it that way considering that most haven't been on Blu-Ray. There's too many blank sections and there's too much going on. Sergecross73 msg me 01:37, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but, please read this, before reverting my recent edit. I removed the release date for Region 2 DVD, because, as I've said, the CDWow thing was imported from Australia (again, note the rating is Australian), because, as I've said, Australia and UK are both Region B. However, with DVDs, Europe and Australia are seperate regions (Region 2, and Region 4 respectively). Again, January 20, 2010 is referring to the Region 4 DVD release date (i.e. Region B blu-ray release date), which is where the confusion started. Therefore, while it was released in Region 4 (i.e Region B), it was not actually released in Region 2 (which is also Region B in some cases). So, technically, I was correct. It was only released in blu-ray in the same region as the UK, but not actually released in the UK itself. Does this make sense?--The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 09:14, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, this discussion has got very silly for some reason, and I want you all to stop. It is the responsibility of the person who wants to ADD info to provide a reliable source for it. Somebody has challenged the assertion that it was released in Region 2 format - so you need a source with a Region 2 release date before you can add it. Amazon would be a reliable enough source for when a DVD was released in that format, if it carried the product. Review comments are not RS.

Meanwhile, The Ultimate Koopa, you need to be way less aggressive. Try reading Wikipedia's verifiability policy - you'll find it will have had much to say about this dispute. Elen of the Roads (talk) 09:41, 12 May 2011 (UTC) ETA - perhaps it might help if you decided whether you all are talking about the DVD format (Region 1, 2 etc), or the planetary locations where the product hit the shops. Elen of the Roads (talk) 09:53, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not going to shout about it, but i'm afraid you'll have to accept Season 20 was not given a proper release in the UK, apart from imports from other countries. If it was, how come it has no BBFC rating? Wimpyguy (talk) 12:27, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
