Adding years to short citations

[edit]

I have added the year of publication to the short citations. This protects the article against editors adding text either cut and pasted from another article or new text with another edition of book by one of the authors already cited. For example I have assumed that all the short inline citations on this page to John Norwich are from the one an only source mentioned in the long citations section:

  • Norwich, John J. (1995), Byzantium: The Decline and Fall, Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., ISBN 978-0-679-41650-0

However I am aware that he has been a prolific writer in this area and he has published other books and editions to which the inline citations could refer. So someone with his book needs to check that the all the short citations in this article at this time do indeed refer to "Norwich 1995", or go back through the article and check with the editors who added the inline citations. -- PBS (talk) 19:34, 1 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
