merge?

[edit]

I didn't suggest this, I'm not convinced it's necessary. The "orders" article needs expanding to include all the older variants but I think it's good to keep them separate. Don't merge. Iancaddy 16:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Include number of 737s in fleet

[edit]

Whether this article is merged with orders, or not, it should inlcude the number of 737 in each airlines fleet.

---mnw2000

I think iceland Air is missing from the list not sure though

I added a comment about operators, some of these airlines no longer operate 737s Archtrain 16:51, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Needs work

[edit]

Without thinking too hard, I added 8 airlines to the list. This list is incomplete! Archtrain 17:05, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that user Archtrain has added past operators, up to now this list has only included current operators. Not a problem if we want to add past operators but if we add one or two then we should add the other few hundred or so former operators! MilborneOne 17:07, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Any idea why Germany Deserves a list that shows 737 numbers and statistics? Sure, but it sways away from the current format, is an eyesore and it looks like Germany is the only one that has it! Lovebus 06:50, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No idea sneaked in while nobody was watching! - needs to be reverted to standard format. MilborneOne (talk) 12:53, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of Boeing 737 users

[edit]

List of Boeing 737 users has been merged into this list, List of Boeing 737 operators 70.51.11.156 (talk) 04:58, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why - it hasnt been discussed - not sure the exact models used are particularly notable and a very small part-list doesnt really help. MilborneOne (talk) 10:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

B737s in Austral Líneas Aéreas fleet?

[edit]

No source supports this claim, and as can be seen in this airline's wikiarticle (and its related sources) the Boeing 737 has never been in Austral's fleet. Maybe the confusion arises from its "relationship" with Aerolíneas Argentinas, which has been (and is) a B737 operator since long time ago?
Hence, I've removed Austral's entry from this list.
Regards, DPdH (talk) 00:40, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored Austral back in the list as they appear to have operated a few 737s just put LV-BBN or LV-ZSW or LV-ZTE or LV-ZTT or LV-AZU or LV-ZXH or LV-ZYI into Google. MilborneOne (talk) 17:20, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi MilborneOne, thanks for your comments. I did that, for example: LV-BBN appears listed only for AR (not AU), LV-ZYI appears listed for AU only in blogs or un-official websites, as can be seen below (hits from GOOGLE Argentina, retrieved today):
  • Aerolineas Argentinas... Continuing its growth and expansion plan, in October Aerolíneas Argentinas incorporated a new Boeing 737/500, license LV-BBN, to its domestic flights fleet ... ([1] "Aerolíneas Argentinas incorporates a new Boeing 737/500 to its domestic fleet", Buenos Aires, October 18 2006. Aerolíneas Argentinas Official Website);
Non-official website, civil aviation related news).
To add to the confusion (myself included!), the Austral website [2] redirects to the Aerolíneas Argentinas Official Website [3], and there it's unclear how AU is related to AR, in operations, destinations and fleet. By the way, in the official website all the current fleet profiles appear in AR livery and logos! (see details in [4], retrieved today).
So IMHO, there is no verifiable evidence or source to support the fact that AU operates (or has operated) the B-737. Hence, I will revert the (disputed) edit until the moment such evidence is provided. Kind regards, DPdH (talk) 00:18, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest you google for images related to these registrations all the aircraft have the word Austral on them! first google result is [5] loads of images of 737s with Austral titles can be found. MilborneOne (talk) 11:36, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the additional info. IMHO, a collection of images cannot qualify as a verifiable source (usually lacks info as: when taken, history of the aircraft, etc). I'm not saying that AU didn't operate B-737 (thanks to the possible "pooling" of aicraft with AR), what I'm saying is that you need to provide adequate sources for this information to be included in this list + please add that info (and sources) also in the "Austral" main article. I was unable to find positive evidence about Austral "historical" fleet, hence if in doubt I prefer to keep this airline out of this list for now. Nothing personal, just trying to be precise. Cheers, DPdH (talk) 00:02, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure why you have mentioned an edit war nobody has added Austral back while this discussion is still ongoing. Looks like it is down to that they are lots of images of Austral Boeing 737s but you say images are not reliable! I would have though an image was more reliable than a written source! Interesting to note nothing else on this page has a reliable source either!! MilborneOne (talk) 21:10, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cyprus Turkish Airlines

[edit]

I think Cyprus Turkish Airlines should also be added under either Turkey or North Cyprus country list. --79.167.70.207 (talk) 07:07, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is listed under Turkey as KTHY I have corrected it to the later name. MilborneOne (talk) 10:18, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Format

[edit]

Just looking to make the two lists clearer as we have Operators by Country and Operators by Variant. The variants list is far from complete. I have changed UK as an example to see what others think. The idea would be as the variants are moved into the table format then the variants list can be slowly removed. Any comments. Thanks MilborneOne (talk) 19:08, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Final UA 737 flight is today

[edit]

United Airlines is flying its final 737 flight today, Oct. 28, 2009, as flight UA737. IAD-ORD-DEN-LAX-SFO, all five major UA hubs. The plane is a 737-300. tilthouse (talk) 17:04, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not anymore! With the merger of United and Continental, Boeing 737s are now back in United's fleet. -Compdude123 (talk) 19:12, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some tables need fixing

[edit]

Just looking at this article and I noticed that some of the tables in this article need some work, specifically the ones for the US and UK. For example, the "737-900" column seems to be used for notes in the UK table, and the US table seems to have two notes columns. Can we please do some work to improve the tables? I will work on this when I get the chance, but I'd appreciate help from other Wikipedians.

Thanks, Compdude123 (talk) 19:10, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks messy and needs cleaning, I dont think there is need for photos.119.155.50.61 (talk) 18:25, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted you removal of images - you are welcome to tidy up the tables but such a big change as image deletion really need agreement. MilborneOne (talk) 19:14, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This (inofficial) voting about flags and country info in orders might concern even this article. Tagremover (talk) 09:03, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List as 103 separate tables

[edit]

I came to this article with a specific question on my mind: Who is the largest operator of Being 737s? I thought that this article, "List of Being 737 operators" would be the perfect article to answer the question. Then I found that the list was organized as 103 separate, unsortable tables, and I became very sad. For comparison, I looked at List of Airbus A320 operators, and found a sensible 3 tables: Major airlines, private, and military. Sortable, concise, and able to answer my question, which is US Airways for the A320 series.

I suggest the current formatting is totally overblown for a 'list' article, such that it impedes the reader's ability to read the article. The use of photos is probably the primary downfall, since photos must be at least thumbnail size for them to be relevant, and on a compact list, they just aren't usable. But this is fine, this page is not meant to be a photo gallery, and it shouldn't try to be one.

Any objection to this suggestion that this article would be much better if the formatting were similar to List of Airbus A320 operators? —fudoreaper (talk) 07:38, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I thought about changing it to just 2 tables. First table for current operators. Second table for former operators. Like the in the topic I posted on this talk page yesterday.

The downside is, that there are way more active and former 737 operators than A320 family ones. So each table gonna be very long. It will be difficult to find out how many aircraft of a variant an airline has, because the header of the table is way further up. WikiPate (talk) 15:14, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I solved that issue with sticky headers in desktop view. WikiPate (talk) 18:37, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I just came to this page and had the exact same view. Sad to see that this comment is nearly 3.5 years old. Adam Cameron Smith (talk) 16:36, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reconfigure Table?

[edit]

The current configuration of this list is outdated. There should be a simple chart and be able to sort by total number like the A320 page, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Airbus_A320_family_operators — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:44:4203:3A30:355C:9BC7:258F:2C03 (talk) 01:20, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

737 MAX

[edit]

Shouldn't 737 MAX aircraft get their own columns?Avman89 (talk) 23:30, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crash and subsequent Landings, I added a current events template to the article. I think this should wait until the situation is cleared up. Caleb The Wipper (talk) 23:52, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Two clean sortable tables

[edit]

Hey, this article needs improvement. It cannot be sorted by total amount of 737 aircraft in service and is difficult to read. And it must become easier to be updated in the future.

I am in favor to do it this way based on the example of the article List of Airbus A320 family operators:

All operators

Country Airline 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 MAX 7 MAX 8 MAX 200 MAX 9 MAX 10 Total
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Ireland Ryanair 222 75 297
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Netherlands 4 40 44
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Former operators

Country Airline 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 MAX 7 MAX 8 MAX 200 MAX 9 MAX 10 Total operated
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Algeria Ecoair International 4 1 1 6
