Developmental Conflicts

[edit]

Masahiro Sakurai, the game designer behind the Kirby series, resigned only days after giving a public interview where he openly criticized Nintendo for circumstances surrounding the development of Kirby Air Ride.

Can anyone provide sources for this? I'm interested in seeing what these circumstances were. --Nintendorulez talk 17:42, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've had an initial stab at this. --Oscarthecat 00:17, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure if this is related, but in a recent Livestream video chat deciphered by Video Games Chronicle, Sakurai revealed that Kirby Air Ride was originally supposed to have Dolby Surround, but he ditched it. He wanted the players to get into the game immediately, not go through a ton of logos that only added more waiting time. In essence, sacrificing quality for convenience. You can watch the video here, but note that it is in Japanese. ElMeroEse (talk) 18:07, 20 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Gameplay

[edit]

Should gameplay be before development?--Clyde Miller 14:25, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vehicles=

[edit]

The descriptions need more detail, such as stats. I've been doing thast, so don't delete it, dammit! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Link 486 (talkcontribs) 14:09, 7 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I removed the vehicles section as it very gameguideish. Stats etc should not be included, any information should be in prose form. See here for an example of how to write a computer or video game article. Timkovski 15:34, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care. Please stop, or I will notify the administrators. Link 486

Look dude I already tried turning the vehicle section into prose, and unless it has sources, it's gone. Give me a source and I can add some sort of a vehicle section back in. It will be prose and referenced, and that's the best deal possible. Going to sysops is a world of bureacucracy you don't want to dive into, trust me. I'm trying to stop an edit war and 3RR violations, and saying "I don't care." is not a good place to start.--Clyde Miller 23:30, 7 December 2006 (UTC)--Clyde Miller 23:30, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, forget it. You don't need to start an edit war; I'll just make an external article. Link 486 @ 8:11 AM, December 8th, 2006.

Those vehicle are just for appearance in this game and this game only. They were never shown in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! (except for Formula Star, Winged Star, and Shadow Star (and of course, Warp Star)).

Trivia section deletion?

[edit]

I think the trivia section should be deleted. It has one short trivia item. Is that enough to have a section for it? I think it should be deleted and left out. Updated this discussion page(finally, after like six months), Kevin 20 5 23 26 23:05, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I'm going to delete the trivia section unless someone can either:
  1. add some more to make it a valid section, or
  2. give me a good reason why I shouldn't

I'll delete it at five 'o clock, so notify me before then if you have something. Sincerely,Kevin 20 5 23 26 23:09, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other than the mysterious two flowers that seem to serve no purpose and the building models which seem to show no purpose in City Trial, I'd say there really isn't anything to add. Go ahead and delete it. --LuigiManiac 05:21, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Will do. Kevin 20 5 23 26 00:31, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I just deleted it. If anyone has a problem with the deletion, they can either bring it up here, or say so on my User page(Kevin 20 5 23 26). Please contact me before you revise my deletion so I do not delete it again. Sincerely,Kevin 20 5 23 26 00:36, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More deletion

[edit]

On the graphics section, I know it says to expand on the subject, but I fail to see the real significance of the subject. And, as far as I've seen, no one has expanded on it for quite some time, and I don't think anybody will. The only reason I would think about leaving it the way it is would be because the article is already so short. So, as before, if anyone can give me a reason for not deleting it (If you're still watching this page, LuigiManiac, you might comment), I'll go ahead and do it. I'll delete it at 6:00. And also as before, please talk on this page or my user talk if you want to revise it back to the way it was, because I will delete it again if you don't say anything. Sincerely, Kevin 20 5 23 26 00:48, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about my absence. I sgree with this section's deletion too. It might have slight neutrality issues, as it seems to be a little biased towards the game. Even if it doesn't constitute violations of neutrality, it could constitute using weasel words. It probably would never be made neutral, and it would probably remain a section-stub forever. It's a good game, but we need balance. --LuigiManiac 14:02, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, those empty sections were placed on a number of Kirby articles as suggestions for what types of information should be included in the article. However, so far only Kirby's Dream Land has been edited to include info on these added sections, at least from what I've seen. Disaster Kirby 18:04, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So...is that a yes to the deletion? Kevin 20 5 23 26 19:15, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since I'm not getting a response, I'll go ahead and delete it. And again, if anyone has any objections, say so here before you revert it so I don't delete it again. Sincerely, Kevin 20 5 23 26 21:34, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kirbys?

[edit]

In both modes, the Kirbys may swallow and acquire the abilities of enemies strewn along the track and use those powers against their rivals. Doing so will slow Kirby's enemies down and potentially do damage to them (if the Health Bar is activated for the race.)

Is that the correct plural form of Kirby? Then again, Kirbies does not sound the best either... Any of you have a speculation on this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomdiepstrap (talkcontribs) 04:36, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
