Naming
[edit]A rapper's name is the most important element that reflects his personality, style and creative essence. It serves as a business card, makes a lasting impression on the audience and helps to promote the artist in the market. A well-chosen rap name is often used as a unique brand that promotes recognition and connects with fans.
Creating a memorable and impressive rap name requires a combination of creativity, self-awareness and cultural resonance. Therefore, it is best to utilize a variety of methods to create a name:
- A real name (for example Drake or Lil Wayne);
- nickname (for example Jay-Z);
- cultural and artistic influences (for example Nas or 6ix9ine);
- based on a notable physical characteristic (for example: Lil Kim);
- by phrase (for example 2 Chainz);
- using a rap name generator (for example: Childish Gambino and Post Malone). Bllporter (talk) 14:39, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

- Lil Wayne is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lil_Wayne (based on real name).
- Is that okay? Bellaprtr (talk) 15:24, 7 February 2024 (UTC)

Golden Age of Hip Hop
[edit]Under the Golden Age heading, it mentions that period being from the mid 80's to early 90's, specifically ending around 1994. However, this discludes many artists and albums that are typically apart of that 'Golden Era', including Tupac's album "All Eyez on Me", Nas' album "It Was Written", Busta Rhymes' debut album "The Coming", and Jay-Z's debut album "Reasonable Doubt", all released in 1996. These are artists and albums that are commonly considered apart of that "Golden Age" or "Golden Era" of Rap and Hip-Hop. That is why I think the period of "Golden Age" of Rap/Hip-Hop should go up to the year 1996 on this page. Sites that also say the "Golden Era/Age" goes up to 1996: [1] [2] [3] LoreDyl (talk) 12:07, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
